Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Smith!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Jr has Smith up against the cage in a clinch.

Jr turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Smith manages to work his way to half guard, despite Jr's best efforts.
Smith is controlling Jr's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Smith wants to get back to full guard.
Jr is pressing down on Smith's thigh, looking to free his foot. Smith is holding on for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Smith manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jr manages to get himself to full guard.

Smith lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Jr walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Jr working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smith doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Smith manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Let's hope that Smith has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Smith feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Jrs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Jr shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Smith manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Smith is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Smith is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jr doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Smith.
Smith looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jr with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
