PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Viktor Chaney (ranked 3289 p4p, 4676 weight class) and Paul Eclaro (ranked 379 p4p, 442 weight class). Chaney comes to the cage accompanied by Enter Sandman . Eclaro comes into a darkened arena with his song building. I'm The Boy kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Paul Eclaro!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chaney throws a head kick that misses.
Chaney throws a head kick but Eclaro moves out of range.
Eclaro with the counter takedown but Chaney avoids it easily.
Chaney throws a series of punches but Eclaro avoids them all with ease.
Chaney uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Eclaro.
Chaney is looking to counter the offense by Eclaro and move into the clinch.
Chaney shoots in for a takedown but Eclaro shows good takedown defense.
Eclaro changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Chaney looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Eclaro just misses with a punch to the body.

Eclaro bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ground and pound from Eclaro seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Eclaro looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
You can see the frustration on Chaney's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Eclaro is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Eclaro has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Eclaro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chaney swivels though and keeps the full guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Eclaro is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Chaney doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Eclaro.

Eclaro swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Chaney is now in Eclaro's guard. A big mistake from Eclaro there, giving up the dominant position!

Paul Eclaro showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Eclaro has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Eclaro throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
