Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rutger Petrov (ranked 3399 p4p, 2220 weight class) and Ralph Long (ranked 348 p4p, 229 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 12 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ralph Long!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Long thows a leg kick but Petrov checks it
and Petrov counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Petrov .
Long wants to stand up but Petrov is controlling him.
Long can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Petrov controls the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Long wants to control but Petrov passes easily into half guard.

Long shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Long was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Long has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Petrov uses from the top position.

Well Long has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
