Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between BV Rasp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Lombard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). BV Rasp has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, BV Rasp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hector Lombard!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Rasp.

Rasp gets a clinch.
Lombard is trying to break the clinch but Rasp has him pressed against the cage.
Rasp tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Rasp landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Rasp putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Lombard in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Rasp connects with a nasty looking knee right to Lombard's face.


It looks like Hector Lombard has been cut.
Lombard is looking to break free of the clinch but Rasp has double underhooks.
Rasp connects with a knee to the head.
Lombard wants to get back to striking at distance but Rasp won't allow it.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Rasp obliges.
Lombard looks gassed!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rasp with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

Lombard should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

That has opened up Hector Lombard's cut even more.
Rasp connects with a nasty looking knee right to Lombard's face.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Rasp obliges.
Rasp tries for a takedown but Lombard manages to get underhooks.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Rasp has Lombard pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Rasp pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Lombard tumbling to the mat - Rasp dives into Lombard's guard.
Lombard really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rasp. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rasp pushes down on Lombard's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Rasp wants to free his trapped foot but Lombard is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Lombard is looking to control Rasp's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lombard avoid being mounted?
Rasp is trying to control the action in half guard but Lombard is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Rasp is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Rasp prevents Lombard from standing back up.
Rasp not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Rasp is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Rasp tries to control but Lombard wriggling away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lombard tries to hold on but Rasp pushes him away.

Rasp throwing strikes here but Lombard is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Rasp raining down shots from the mount!

Rasp moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Lombard has worked his arm free - good work by Lombard!
Rasp is looking to take a break and control but Lombard is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lombard can do anything to dispel that myth.
Lombard is trying to buck Rasp off.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rasp misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Lombard is not content to let Rasp control the position.
Rasp sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Lombard is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Rasp tries to score with some ground and pound. Lombard controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Rasp tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Rasp throws an elbow but Lombard slips to the side and avoids it well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
No luck for Lombard with that takedown attempt.
Lombard looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


A nice combination there by Lombard.
Lombard scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Lombard swats away the attempt to clinch by Rasp.
Lombard misses with a two punch combination.
Rasp tries to close the distance and clinch but Lombard swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Rasp pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lombard waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Rasp.
Rasp tries to clinch but Lombard is having none of it.
Lombard throws a one two combo.
Rasp slips a jab and a cross from Lombard.

Rasp rushes Lombard and presses him up against the cage.
Rasp scores with a shot to the side of Lombard's head.
Rasp creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Rasp scores with a hook to the body.
Lombard tries to circle away but Rasp has him pinned against the cage.

Lombard is breathing heavily.
Rasp lands a knee to the head.
Rasp is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Rasp decides to pull guard.
Rasp manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lombard manages to get himself to full guard.

Rasp pushing down on Lombard's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Rasp will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Rasp looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Lombard sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Rasp is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lombard doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Rasp.

Lombard pushes Rasp off looking to stand but Rasp dives back in and keeps control.
Rasp is looking to advance position but Lombard won't allow it.

Rasp looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Rasp wants to control but Lombard is keeping him busy.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Lombard keeps the fight on the outside.
Rasp wants to clinch.

Lombard attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Lombard.
Lombard throws a right hand that Rasp ducks under and follows up with a left that Rasp also avoids with ease.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

BV Rasp has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hector Lombard.
Rasp is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Rasp throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Lombard looks to throw the jab but Rasp is out of range.

Rasp is looking to take a break and control but Lombard is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Rasp is really struggling to control Lombard but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rasp advances to mount.

Rasp with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Lombard somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!
Lombard sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rasp throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Rasp takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
BV Rasp is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lombard looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hector Lombard has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Rasp has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
