Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cornelius Myers (ranked 40 p4p, 55 weight class) and Ernest Graves (ranked 6 p4p, 10 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cornelius Myers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 40 - 30 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Ernest Graves!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Taro Takaoka and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Graves slips a jab from Myers.
Graves throws a body shot but no joy.
Myers defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Graves.
Myers thuds his right hand into Graves's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Myers gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Nice body punch from Graves - that landed with a thud.
Graves is trying to stall.

Myers pulls guard effortlessly.
Graves trying to control the position from guard on top but Myers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Myers is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Myers working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Graves has passed into half guard!

Graves is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Graves scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Myers is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Myers tries to lock up and control but Graves gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Graves has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Graves pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Graves working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Graves lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Myers is rocked!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Myers takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Graves's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

After winning the bout, Ernest Graves thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
