The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fernando bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Fernando decides to stand back up.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Fernando has eaten all the pies!

Morris looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Fernando!
Morris moves to his opponent's back but Fernando bucks him off and ends up in guard. A bit of a disaster there for Morris.
Fernando passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Morris tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Fernando wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Fernando working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Morris shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Fernando is trying to defend but Morris finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Morris is breathing heavily.
Fernando wants to improve his position but Morris is controlling well.
Fernando has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Morris is working away from the top position though.
Fernando gets full guard.
Morris wants to stand but Fernando is controlling his posture from full guard.
Fernando wants to sweep but no luck.
Morris knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fernando on the ground.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Fernando shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Morris manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Morris is bucking up trying to escape but Fernando cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Fernando is working for a guillotine from mount but Morris frees his head quite easily.

Fernando is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Morris can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fernando tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Fernando cracks Morris with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Fernando has control of Morris's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Morris regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Morris is trying to reverse the position but instead Fernando has taken his back - oops!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Fernando throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Morris was covering up waiting for the punch and Fernando finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Fernando has gone for a leg lock! Morris slips out almost immediately though and dives into Fernando's guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Morris wants to stand and escape but instead Fernando has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Fernando is looking for a kimura but Morris is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Fernando to get the leverage.

Fernando maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Morris could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Fernando has cracked it and Morris is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Fernando!
