Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Klinx Maxwell (ranked 2971 p4p, 4533 weight class) and Stu Redman (ranked 346 p4p, 459 weight class). Redman has chosen Smke a Little Smoke - Eric Church as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Redman shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Redman showed some decent athleticism there.
Maxwell wants to control but Redman is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Maxwell avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Redman.
Maxwell has hold of Redman's hands but Redman slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Maxwell is looking to improve his position.

Maxwell looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Redman connects with a nice short shot to Maxwell's temple.

Redman is looking for a kimura but Maxwell is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Redman to get the leverage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Maxwell has his foot on Redman's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Redman works his way back into a safe position though.
Redman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maxwell swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Maxwell escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Redman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Maxwell is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Shut Up & Train! {$1000} that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Maxwell looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Redman is defending well. Maxwell quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Redman has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Maxwell celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
