PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sss Sss (ranked 23391 p4p, 5822 weight class) and Sss Sss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 53 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sss Sss!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 46 - 22 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sss Sss!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
A head kick from Fighter B lands but Fighter A takes it in his stride.
Fighter A is trying hard to land a takedown here. Fighter B sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
A nice side step and Fighter B releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Fighter B fails with the takedown.
And Fighter A counters with a quick kick to the body but Fighter B blocks it.
Fighter B tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Fighter A defends well and Fighter B ends up having to push Fighter A into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fighter B bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Fighter B happy to just control the position for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fighter A wants to control but Fighter B postures up.
Fighter A being controlled for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fighter A struggling a bit here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Fighter B controls the position from side control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Fighter B shoots in for a takedown but Fighter A shows good takedown defense.
Fighter A throws a quick counter kick to the body but Fighter B avoids it.
Sss Sss has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sss Sss.
A solid body kick from Fighter B.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fighter A shoots in looking for a takedown. Fighter B tries to sprawl out of it but Fighter A keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fighter B manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fighter A shoots and misses
and Fighter B finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Fighter B throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Fighter B closes this distance looking for a takedown but Fighter A circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Fighter B closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Fighter A quickly recovers to half guard.
Fighter A is positioning himself well to prevent Fighter B advancing to mount.
Still in half guard, Fighter B seems content to control.
Fighter B's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fighter A tries to get to full guard but Fighter B has control of the leg.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Sss Sss dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Fighter B shoots in and drives through. Fighter A sprawls well.
And Fighter A counters with a quick kick to the body but Fighter B blocks it.
Fighter A defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Fighter B.
Fighter A misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fighter A shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Fighter B is trying to defend but Fighter A finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fighter B tries to kick Fighter A off in order to stand up. Fighter A Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Fighter A staying calm.
Fighter B keeps Fighter A under control for a moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Fighter B is trying to get back to half guard.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Let's hope that Fighter B has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Fighter B shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Fighter A manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Fighter B controls from within his opponent's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fighter B has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
More stalling from Fighter B.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sss Sss will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Fighter B is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Fighter A's half guard.
Fighter B content to control rather than advance.
Fighter A desperately trying to maintain half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fighter B is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Fighter A is looking to improve his position.
Fighter B is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Fighter A is looking to control Fighter B's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Fighter A avoid being mounted?
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Fighter B tries to pass the half guard into mount. Fighter A knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Fighter B has a takedown stuffed.
As Fighter B backs away, Fighter A returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Fighter A fails with a takedown attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Fighter B gets the takedown into side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fighter A is looking for a sweep.

Fighter B is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Fighter A knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fighter B happy to just control the position for now.

And that's the end of the fight!
Sss Sss comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Fighter B has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
