Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Glass Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akihiko Takahashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takahashi has chosen Off The Heezay as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Glass Joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Akihiko Takahashi!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Takahashi.
Joe shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Takahashi as he avoids it easily.
Takahashi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Takahashi throws a nice looking combination but Joe bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Joe fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Joe on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Takahashi gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Joe displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Takahashi throws out the jab.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Joe has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Takahashi uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Joe takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Takahashi fails to land with a series of punches.
Takahashi tries to bum rush Joe with a series of wild strikes but Joe uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Takahashi closes the distance and pushes Joe back into the cage.

Takahashi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Joe takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Akihiko Takahashi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Joe postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Joe is pushing down on Takahashi's leg trying to pass to half guard. Takahashi is fighting to maintain full guard but Joe has managed to sneak the leg through.
Joe will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Takahashi is looking to escape.
Joe passes the guard and advances to mount!
Joe connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Takahashi is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

Joe working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Takahashi looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Joe! Submission of the night perhaps?
