PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pertti Naulakko (ranked 1579 p4p, 1252 weight class) and Eric Dungey (ranked 223 p4p, 176 weight class). Naulakko comes to the cage accompanied by Amon Amarth - First Kill. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 17 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pertti Naulakko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eric Dungey!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dungey bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Naulakko tries to bench press Dungey off him but Dungey keeps the position.
Dungey working away.
Naulakko is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Dungey is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Dungey wants to stand but Naulakko has his arm trapped.
Naulakko is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Naulakko wants to get back to his feet.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Naulakko might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Naulakko is trying to control Dungey's posture but Dungey avoids it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Naulakko misses with a straight right.
A looping hook to the body misses from Naulakko. Dungey does a little dance to reset his feet.
A nice side step and Dungey releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Naulakko misses with an uppercut
and Dungey counters with a lovely straight right hand!

It looks like Pertti Naulakko has been cut.
Naulakko connects with a looping right hand.

Dungey is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Naulakko's half guard.
Naulakko is trying to maintain the position but Dungey is very close to passing his half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dungey tries to stand and escape but Naulakko is controlling the position.

Naulakko pushes Dungey off and gets back to his feet.
Dungey throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Naulakko's waist but Naulakko gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dungey off to one side.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dungey keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dungey looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Naulakko wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Dungey chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Naulakko can pounce on him.
Naulakko works the jab nicely.
Naulakko scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Naulakko punishes Dungey's body with a nice straight punch.
Nice body punch from Naulakko.
Nice uppercut lands for Dungey. That snapped Naulakko's head back.
Dungey ducks right into an uppercut from Naulakko.
Pertti Naulakko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A decent looking cross lands there for Naulakko.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Dungey checks a leg kick.
Naulakko lands with a nice body punch.
Naulakko lands with a straight right. Dungey didn't see that one coming.

Dungey is rocked!
Naulakko fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Dungey is still on wobbly legs! Can Naulakko finish him?
Dungey looks winded!
Naulakko sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Dungey's defenses. It connects perfectly with Dungey's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Pertti Naulakko!
A very excited looking Pertti Naulakko made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
