The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knox connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
It looks like Pierre Ragout Mendy has been cut.
Mendy swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Mendy pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Knox avoids the body shot from Mendy.
Nice shot lands for Knox.
Knox lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Mendy falls backwards - clearly groggy! Knox dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Athos Knox!
After the fight, Athos Knox was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
