In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 5 losses; Ferdinand Upsala! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 14 wins and 3 losses; Olyksandr Chai!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Franklyn Lucas and David Schapiro.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Chai moves into the clinch successfully.

Chai has Upsala pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Chai pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Upsala tumbling to the mat - Chai dives into Upsala's guard.

Chai wants to control from the top but Upsala keeps moving.
Upsala is adopting a defensive guard.

Chai drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Chai jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chai has control of Upsala's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Upsala regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Chai avoids the attempt from Upsala to control.
Upsala is wriggling around trying to escape.
Chai takes Upsala's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Upsala is in trouble.

Chai has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Upsala's body.

Chai has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Upsala has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Upsala tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Chai has hold of Upsala's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Upsala manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Upsala bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

We've been hearing that Upsala has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Chai is pushing down on Upsala's leg trying to pass to half guard. Upsala is fighting to maintain full guard but Chai has managed to sneak the leg through.

Chai is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Upsala is just riding it out for now. Chai eventually gives up the hold.
