Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Robert Laird (ranked 5803 p4p, 4945 weight class) and John Titor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Robert Laird could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to John Titor's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robert Laird!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Titor!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Summer Carpenter and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Titor.
Laird wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Laird is trying to control Titor's posture but Titor avoids it.
Laird is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Titor is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Laird trying to control but Titor flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Laird is trying to break free.
Laird knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Titor on the ground.
Titor is looking to control Laird but Laird is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Titor missing with strikes.
Laird rolls, trying to escape but Titor keeps control of the position.
Titor really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Laird.

Laird is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Titor off. It looks like it's working - Titor slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Laird displaying calm under pressure there.
Titor fails with a takedown attempt.
Laird appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Titor looks winded!
Laird will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Laird closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Titor kicks Laird off and gets back to his feet.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Laird fails with a takedown attempt.
It seemed like Titor was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Laird.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robert Laird. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Titor lands a jab to Laird's midsection.
Laird shoots in but Titor avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Titor is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Laird's half guard.

Laird tries to roll over but Titor keeps him under control.
Laird wants to get back to his feet.

Titor decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Titor fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Laird bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Titor is looking to get back to his feet here but Laird is keeping cool and he's managed to take Titor's back.

Laird lands strikes to the head.
Laird scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Laird.
Laird punches Titor on the ear.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Titor takes a big shot to the side of the head.

Laird is persistently looking for the submission but Titor is defending it well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but John Titor will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Laird decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Still in half guard, Laird seems content to control.

Laird is working for a kimura but Titor is defending it quite comfortably.

Laird thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Titor is breathing heavily.
Laird thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Titor's head.

Laird works his way into side control.
Laird is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Titor's shoulder. That is not cool.

Laird tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Laird creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Titor takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Titor is not content to let Laird control the position.
Laird lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Laird wants to lay and pray for a moment but Titor keeps working.

Laird goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Titor has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Laird but great work by Titor.

Titor has hold of Laird's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Laird tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Titor cranks the arm and Laird screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Laird, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). John Titor!
