Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
LI misses with a straight right.
LI fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Johnson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
LI moves out of range as Johnson strikes.
Johnson works LI's body with a nice hook.
Johnson throws out a loose jab but LI uses good head movement to avoid it.

LI closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Johnson regains half guard.
LI prevents Johnson from improving his position.
LI wants to free his trapped foot but Johnson is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Johnson looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Johnson felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Johnson manages to get to full guard.
Johnson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Johnson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. LI defends it easily.

LI throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Johnson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Johnson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. LI doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. LI manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Johnson is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Johnson wants to sweep here but LI controlling him for the moment.

LI drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and LI jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Johnson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst LI is controlling him.
Johnson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

LI is not content to let Johnson control the position.
LI is looking to get back to full guard here but Johnson has managed to pass to side control instead.

LI is looking to improve his position but Johnson isn't that keen on the idea.
Johnson misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
LI is in all sorts of trouble here.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
LI moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts LI, as that shot connected.
Johnson lands a nice shot to the body.

Johnson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
LI is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

LI keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

A punch lands to the side of Johnson 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Johnson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
LI works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Johnson tries to clinch up.
Johnson misses with a looping right.
LI connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
LI blocks a jab.
LI seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
LI throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Johnson's head.
Johnson throws a push kick but LI slaps the foot to one side.
LI was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

LI is working for takedown but Johnson is calmly controlling the position for now.
LI's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Johnson blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
LI swings wildly with an uppercut but Johnson uses good head movement to avoid it.
LI has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Johnson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jing Lliang LI. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A right handed body shot lands from Johnson.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Johnson lands a hook to the side of the head.
Johnson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. LI is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

LI turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and LI manages to end up in side control.

Johnson wants to control but LI is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Johnson might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Horrible takedown attempt by LI or perhaps it was just good defense by Johnson, which made it look bad.
LI throws the left hand but Johnson avoids the punch easily.
