PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Harry Hendersons (ranked 2188 p4p, 1024 weight class) and Theodore Nouveau (ranked 287 p4p, 150 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nouveau gets a clinch.

Nouveau closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hendersons quickly recovers to half guard.
Nouveau lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Hendersons is trying to maintain the position but Nouveau is very close to passing his half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Nouveau in particular looking to stall.

Hendersons working for a triangle but Nouveau defends it easily.

Hendersons isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Nouveau stacks Hendersons on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Nouveau!

Nouveau swings around for an armbar but Hendersons sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Nouveau's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hendersons wants to control from the top but Nouveau keeps moving.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hendersons postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Nouveau is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hendersons, into his guard.

Hendersons is in all sorts of trouble here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nouveau is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Nouveau fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hendersons, pushing him back against the cage.
Hendersons fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Nouveau turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Hendersons is looking for a sweep.
Hendersons manages to work his way to half guard, despite Nouveau's best efforts.
Hendersons is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Kalashnikov ELITE MMA Gym , so we'll see if he gets out of it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Nouveau has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Hendersons defend it? Nouveau steps over the head and cranks it - Hendersons is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Nouveau!
