Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shen Po (ranked 1092 p4p, 1215 weight class) and Sammy Beach (ranked 154 p4p, 172 weight class). Po comes to the cage accompanied by Ei-tetsu Hayashi & 木下伸市. Sammy Beach will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shen Po!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sammy Beach!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Percy O'Donnell and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Po shoots in and gets a takedown into Beach's guard.
Po is stalling in the full guard.

Beach pushes Po off and gets back to his feet.
Po throws a body punch but Beach moves out of range.
Po keeps the fight on the outside.
The fight stays on the outside here - Beach looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've been informed that Beach has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
A telegraphed right hand from Po misses the target.
Beach scores with a shot to the body.
Po waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Beach.

Beach gets a clinch.
Beach misses with a body punch.
Beach tries to stall but Po uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Po misses with some punches.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Beach creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Po's defenses.
Beach struggles to land a body shot inside as Po controls his hands.

That's one minute gone in the round.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Beach.
A shot in the inside from Beach.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Po.
Po has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Beach blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Beach lands a nice shot to the body.
Po takes an elbow to the forehead.
A right hook to the body lands for Po.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Beach.
Po can't find room to land a body shot as Beach controls the action.

Po successfully pulls guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Po has his foot on Beach's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Beach works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Po looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Beach is defending well. Po quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Beach has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Po celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Shen Po!
A relieved looking Shen Po thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
