The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maynard shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Anpastapoulos napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Anpastapoulos is trying to control Maynard's posture but Maynard avoids it.
Anpastapoulos takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Anpastapoulos is trying to improve his position.
Maynard lands a decent elbow from side control.
Anpastapoulos manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Anpastapoulos is looking for a sweep. Maynard is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Maynard slips a nice elbow through Anpastapoulos's hands, connecting with Anpastapoulos's forehead.

Maynard wants to work for an arm triangle but Anpastapoulos is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Maynard slips a nice elbow through Anpastapoulos's hands, connecting with Anpastapoulos's forehead.
Maynard is just content to waste time from the top position. Anpastapoulos takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
