The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wellington swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Wellington rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Couture moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Wellington misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Connor Wellington seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Couture closes the distance and clinches up with Wellington, looking for a takedown. Couture pushes Wellington against the ropes but Wellington circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Wellington looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Couture has a takedown stuffed.
Couture avoids a punch combination nicely.
Couture uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wellington.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Couture gets the takedown into side control.
Wellington is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Couture's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Wellington is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Couture pulls his head out easily.

Wellington tries to kick Couture off but Couture keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Couture moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Wellington.
Wellington is trying to improve his position.
Wellington manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Couture tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Couture really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wellington. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wellington tries to pass the half guard into mount. Couture knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Wellington seems to be working for a kimura but Couture defends the submission attempt.
Couture tries to roll over but Wellington keeps him under control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Wellington stands up and beckons Couture to join him on the feet.

Couture closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Couture tries to move into full mount but can't pass Wellington's legs.
Wellington is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Couture off and has taken his back!

A close round but Randy Couture will probably get the nod.

Couture shoots for a takedown but Wellington saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Couture walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

It looks like Randy Couture has been cut.
Wellington grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Couture takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Wellington cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
