PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jermaine Event (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pete Ashworth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Event comes to the cage accompanied by Eazy E - Real M***** F****** G's. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ashworth avoids the head kick by Event.
Event tries to clinch but Ashworth is having none of it.
Ashworth keeps the fight on the outside.
Event tries to close the distance and clinch but Ashworth swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ashworth misses with a takedown attempt - Event sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Event moves in looking to clinch but Ashworth pushes him off.
Event tries to clinch but Ashworth moves out of range.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Ashworth throws a hook but Event blocks it.
Ashworth plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

It looks like Jermaine Event has been cut.

Ashworth takes the fight into the clinch.
Event missing with knees to the body.
Event lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Event dodges an elbow strike from Ashworth.
Ashworth on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Event unloads a knee to the mid-section. Ashworth lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ashworth lands a right hand that snaps the head of Event backwards.
Ashworth tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Event lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

Ashworth jumps guard and drags Event to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Event trying to control but Ashworth is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ashworth looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Event drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ashworth looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ashworth looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ashworth!

The ground and pound from Ashworth seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Ashworth looks gassed!
Event regains half guard.
Event won't allow Ashworth to pass to mount.
Ashworth is nestled in close to Event, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Event has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Ashworth. Oh but Event has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Ashworth goes limp - he's gone! Event jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
