Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sparky Anderson (ranked 393 p4p, 806 weight class) and Joshi Dell (ranked 47 p4p, 114 weight class). Anderson comes to the cage accompanied by Pick up man. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joshi Dell!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Anderson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dell sprawls well. Dell wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Anderson gets slowly back to his feet.
Anderson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Sparky Anderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Anderson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dell tries to keep at a distance but Anderson has taken the fight into the clinch.

Dell is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Anderson's shoulder. That is not cool.
Dell is looking to take a break and control but Anderson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Anderson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

We've been told by Anderson's head coaches at Sparks gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Dell wants to sweep here but Anderson controlling him for the moment.

Dell has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Dell there as he acknowledges the shot.

Anderson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dell is just riding it out for now. Anderson eventually gives up the hold.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Anderson in particular looking to stall.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Anderson is working for a kimura but Dell is defending it quite comfortably.
Dell trying to get back to full guard but Anderson takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Dell wants to control but Anderson is having none of it.
Dell felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Anderson sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Dell is desperately trying to improve his position but Anderson has a good base and remains in mount.
Sparky Anderson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Dell holds on to Anderson as tight as he can, avoiding damage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
