This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 29 wins and 34 losses; Juu Dyon! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 8 wins and 2 losses; Tyler Alvarez!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Konstantin Menshow and Sergei Dronov.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Dyon closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Alvarez did well to prevent Dyon getting side control. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Dyon (2) vs (0) Alvarez
Alvarez is not content to let Dyon control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alvarez is looking for a sweep. Dyon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Dyon looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dyon is looking to take a break and control but Alvarez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Alvarez tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dyon wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Dyon wants to control for a moment but Alvarez uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Alvarez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dyon swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Alvarez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dyon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
