Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Uncle Ben (ranked 5060 p4p, 3841 weight class) and Mean Gean (ranked 498 p4p, 442 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Uncle Ben!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mean Gean!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Gregory Folan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gean manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ben on his heels. He'll look to pass Ben's guard now, I'm sure.
Gean wants to control from the top but Ben keeps moving.

Gean postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ben is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gean, into his guard.

Gean bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ben's guard.

Ben has momentary wrist control but Gean slips an elbow through the middle.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gean slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Ben knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gean on the ground.

Ben wants to stand but Gean is controlling the position.
Gean stands up over Ben, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ben avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Gean slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Let's hope that Gean has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Gean shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ben's guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Ben throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gean.

Ben closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ben lands in his opponent's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gean is on top in guard.

Ben explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Mean Gean seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gean is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ben knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Ben is working to avoid the ground and pound but Gean connects with a decent elbow.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ben wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

That was a close second round but I would say that Uncle Ben will probably get the nod.

Ben wants to stand back up but Gean manages to pass into side control.

Gean tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gean has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Gean has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Ben has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
