Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Arnold Blevins (ranked 2663 p4p, 3182 weight class) and Chris McCocker (ranked 300 p4p, 341 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Chris McCocker enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chris McCocker!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Santiago Holmes and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blevins connects with a good right hand that stumbles McCocker. McCocker circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
McCocker displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Blevins throws out the jab.
McCocker looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Blevins throws a big shot that misses.
Blevins throws a right hand that McCocker ducks under and follows up with a left that McCocker also avoids with ease.

McCocker's coach down at Cozad The Island was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on McCocker's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

McCocker throws out a counter right but Blevins avoids it with no problem.

and McCocker counters with a single leg into guard. Blevins didn't expect that.
McCocker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Blevins swivels though and keeps the full guard.

McCocker is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blevins looking for a sweep. Not yet Blevins, not yet.
McCocker passes Blevins's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Blevins definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
McCocker is pressing down on Blevins's thigh, looking to free his foot. Blevins is holding on for now.

McCocker wants to finish this one by submission but Blevins is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from McCocker.

McCocker with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

McCocker is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Blevins to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Blevins shrugs it off.

McCocker working for a guillotine from mount but Blevins is in no mood to give up.

McCocker has control of Blevins's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Blevins regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Blevins is looking to get to half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

McCocker takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Blevins fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and McCocker has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Blevins ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Blevins connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McCocker shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Blevins pinned against the cage. Blevins gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

McCocker might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Blevins throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent McCocker stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
