Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jumba Jookiba (ranked 6131 p4p, 2605 weight class) and Jake Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peterson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Berzerk by Eminem. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 24 - 0, fighting out of London, Jumba Jookiba!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jake Peterson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jookiba tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Jookiba shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Jookiba shoots for a double leg takedown but Peterson sprawls well. He's pushed Jookiba's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Peterson is on top in guard.


Jookiba escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Peterson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Jookiba knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Peterson on the ground.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Peterson working his ground and pound in the gym.

Jookiba has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Peterson is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Jookiba is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Peterson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Jookiba counters with a shoot takedown. Peterson fights it but they end up in guard.

Peterson manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jookiba is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Peterson's half guard.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
