The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cartier shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Otgonbayar counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Otgonbayar tries to clinch there but Cartier circles away.

Otgonbayar escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Still in the clinch, Otgonbayar scores with a nice short uppercut.

I was talking to Otgonbayar's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cartier lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Otgonbayar is in a horrible position here. Cartier smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Cartier wants to finish this one by submission but Otgonbayar is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Cartier.
Cartier cracks Otgonbayar with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Otgonbayar has left one of his arms exposed and Cartier doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Otgonbayar screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

During a confident post fight interview, Ray Cartier thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
