Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David Lett (ranked 2345 p4p, 3960 weight class) and Adam Lenz (ranked 292 p4p, 446 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Lett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Adam Lenz!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lenz swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Lett counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Lenz manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Lett keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Lenz pulls guard effortlessly.
Lenz can't keep his opponent in guard - Lett advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Lett looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lenz with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Lett is looking for a kimura but Lenz is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lett to get the leverage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lett is looking to advance position but Lenz won't allow it.
Lett winds up and cracks Lenz with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Lett is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lenz defends it well.
Lett definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Lett is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Lett has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lett looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Lett is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lenz sees it coming and defends easily.
Lenz moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Lett is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Lenz is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Lett with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Lett wants to control from the top but Lenz keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lett advances to half guard.
Lenz tries to roll over but Lett keeps him under control.

Lett seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Lenz is defending against the submission attempts here by Lett.
Lett is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Lett is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Lett lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Lett seems to be looking for submissions.

Lett is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lenz is just riding it out for now. Lett eventually gives up the hold.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lett working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Lenz has hold of Lett's hands but Lett slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

David Lett dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Lett darts in looking for a takedown but Lenz gets double underhooks and turns Lett into the cage.
Lett changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lenz fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Adam Lenz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lett changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lenz tries to avoid it but Lett manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lenz to the ground. Lenz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Lett. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lenz drives through with a takedown into Lett's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Lett is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lenz is aware though and is defending well.

Lett has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Lenz doesn't defend quickly enough and Lett has managed to lock this one up! Can Lenz escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Lett on a fantastic submission victory.

David Lett decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
