PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Borowa Gora (ranked 601 p4p, 1212 weight class) and Ngytsj Diesel (ranked 91 p4p, 180 weight class). Ngytsj Diesel told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diesel jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

and Gora connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Diesel throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Gora's head.

Gora sizes up Diesel with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Gora feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Diesel sprawling to the canvas! Diesel rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Gora finish him?!

It looks like Ngytsj Diesel has been cut.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Borowa Gora will probably get the nod.

I was talking to Gora's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Gora breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Diesel in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
Diesel throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
It looked like Gora wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Gora lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
