PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Well Rounded (ranked 3022 p4p, 3916 weight class) and James Rocksteady (ranked 364 p4p, 439 weight class). Rocksteady has chosen Red Right Hand as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, James Rocksteady!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksandr Martynov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rounded tries to close the distance and clinch but Rocksteady swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Rocksteady looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Rounded looks to throw the jab but Rocksteady is out of range.
We've been hearing reports that Rounded has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Well Rounded seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rocksteady throws a jab when Rounded was well out of range.

Rounded shoots in and bounces Rocksteady off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Rocksteady defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Rounded's arms.

Rounded has got his arm under Rocksteady's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Rocksteady has spun round into Rounded's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

Rounded has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rocksteady can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rocksteady stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rounded swivels though and keeps the full guard.
