The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Decent striking displayed by McCarthy there.
Hardy moves out of range of the strikes.
McCarthy takes a swing at Hardy's ribcage but misses.
Hardy misses with a right hand
and McCarthy counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

McCarthy scores with a hook to the body. Hardy takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that McCarthy has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Nero Hardy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

McCarthy is taking a breather. Hardy says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Hardy has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, McCarthy escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by McCarthy!

McCarthy's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Nice defenses there by Hardy.
Hardy gets cracked with a nice right hand there by McCarthy.
Hardy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McCarthy pinned against the cage. McCarthy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Hardy closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hardy lands in his opponent's guard.
