Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ed Valquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Virtua Bird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bird takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Valquez misses with a wild combination.
Valquez throws a series of punches but Bird moves out of range.
Bird tries to clinch but Valquez is having none of it.
Bird walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Valquez misses with a looping left.
Bird drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Valquez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Valquez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Bird takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bird clinches with his opponent.
Bird dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.

Bird is fighting off a takedown attempt but Valquez is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Bird to the mat. Bird regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Bird looking to hit a scissor sweep but Valquez is one step ahead there.

Bird is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Valquez avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Bird escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Valquez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Valquez gets to his feet - Bird follows without any prompting.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bird tries to clinch but Valquez moves out of range.
Valquez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Decent striking displayed by Valquez there.
Bird moves out of range as Valquez strikes.
Valquez misses with a two punch combination.
Valquez throws a series of punches but Bird moves out of range.
Bird tries to clinch but Valquez is having none of it.
Valquez tries to bum rush Bird with a series of wild strikes but Bird uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Valquez bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Bird's head backwards.
Bird tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Valquez connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Valquez scores with a jab to the body.
Valquez throws a hook to the side of Bird's head but Bird sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
It's a brutal combination of punches from Valquez! Bird is backing up but he can't get away as Valquez lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Bird and ends the fight. Great knockout.
