Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mauro Okongwu (ranked 154 p4p, 277 weight class) and Ben Slam (ranked 10 p4p, 43 weight class). Okongwu comes to the cage accompanied by Show Stop - REASON. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ben Slam!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Slam. Okongwu does a little dance to reset his feet.
A lazy body kick from Slam
and Okongwu counters with a left and a right that stings Slam.
Slam stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
It looks like Mauro Okongwu has been cut.
Slam throws a sloppy head kick
and Okongwu makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Slam really felt that one!
Slam lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Slam throws a lazy right hand but Okongwu sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Okongwu looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Okongwu was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Okongwu takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

We've been informed that Slam has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Slam scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Slam lands a nice hook to Okongwu's body. Okongwu takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Slam is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Okongwu had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

Ben Slam's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Okongwu drops Slam onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Slam is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

Okongwu dips a shoulder and cracks Slam with a mighty uppercut! Slam falls back against the cage and Okongwu unloads with a barrage of strikes! Slam is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Okongwu screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
