Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Short (ranked 1391 p4p, 813 weight class) and Billy Crawley (ranked 64 p4p, 44 weight class). Short comes to the cage accompanied by Survivor - Eye Of The Tiger. Crawley has chosen Jewelry - One More Time as his entrance music. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crawley scoring well with a low kick there.

Short wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Crawley, who protects the arm well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Crawley is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Short asserts his dominance and retains side control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Short swings around for an armbar but Crawley sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Short's guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Short's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Crawley tries to stand but Short is controlling from the bottom.
