PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Thomas Babcock (ranked 450 p4p, 1323 weight class) and Morton Masters (ranked 54 p4p, 186 weight class). Babcock kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is 70. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Morton Masters!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Eddie Farnsworth and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masters throws a right and a left that both miss.
Babcock definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Babcock throws a hook but Masters blocks it.
Babcock misses the shot to the body.
Babcock gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Masters.

Masters throws a shot from downtown. Babcock moves away and avoids it.
Masters misses with a series of wild punches.
Babcock shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Masters as he avoids it easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Masters is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

With the fighters up against the cage, Masters throws an elbow but misses.

Masters has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Masters lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Babcock shoots in for a double leg but Masters sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jesse Thomas Babcock!
A very excited looking Jesse Thomas Babcock made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
