Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Okafor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Deontay DJ!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Okafor misses.
DJ unleashes a big counter combination but Okafor bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
DJ takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
DJ lands with a kick to the ribs.
DJ misses with a two punch combination.
Okafor pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
DJ raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
DJ scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
DJ misses with a kick to the body.
DJ tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nice body punch from DJ.
Some wild striking there from DJ.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
DJ holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Okafor is stalling here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
DJ pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round.
DJ shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Okafor eats them both and turns towards DJ to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
DJ feints with a jab and clips Okafor right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Okafor is sent crashing into the canvas and DJ leaps in for the kill! Okafor tries to get to his feet but DJ is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Okafor is in need of a savior and steps in!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Deontay DJ!
Our winner, Deontay DJ, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
