PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hamid Hamud (ranked 4297 p4p, 4273 weight class) and Luka Seehaubitze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hamid Hamud!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Luka Seehaubitze!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Damien Edna and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hamud shoots in but no luck this time.

Hamud is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Seehaubitze's half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Seehaubitze is not content to let Hamud control the position.

Hamud shoots in for a takedown but Seehaubitze shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Hamud throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Seehaubitze's waist but Seehaubitze gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hamud off to one side.

Hamud fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Hamud throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Seehaubitze's waist but Seehaubitze gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hamud off to one side.

Hamud takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Hamud's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Seehaubitze connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hamud scrambles back to his feet.
Seehaubitze throws out a leg kick but Hamud moves out of range and Seehaubitze only half commits.
A jab lands there for Seehaubitze.
Seehaubitze shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hamud eats them both and turns towards Seehaubitze to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Seehaubitze bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Hamud's head.
Luka Seehaubitze seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Hamud shoots in but Seehaubitze avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Seehaubitze shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hamud eats them both and turns towards Seehaubitze to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

and Seehaubitze counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
A low kick lands for Seehaubitze.
Seehaubitze pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Seehaubitze lands with a hook. Hamud tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Seehaubitze keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Hamud tries for a takedown but Seehaubitze circles away easily
and Seehaubitze connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Seehaubitze connects with a single shot there.
Seehaubitze lands with a shot to the body.
Seehaubitze slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Seehaubitze stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Seehaubitze wants it to stay on the feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hamud takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Seehaubitze is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Hamud had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
Hamud shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Seehaubitze pinned against the cage. Seehaubitze gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Seehaubitze lunges at Hamud with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Hamud's hand.
Horrible takedown attempt by Hamud or perhaps it was just good defense by Seehaubitze, which made it look bad.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

and Seehaubitze counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Hamud looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Seehaubitze connects with a single shot there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Seehaubitze throws a head kick but Hamud moves out of range.

Seehaubitze has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Seehaubitze leaves Hamud with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Hamud changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Seehaubitze tries to avoid it but Hamud manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Seehaubitze to the ground. Seehaubitze escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Luka Seehaubitze is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Seehaubitze connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Hamud drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Seehaubitze really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hamud. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Seehaubitze can do anything to dispel that myth.

Hamud has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hamud looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Hamud is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Luka Seehaubitze is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Hamud throws a strike aimed at the side of Seehaubitze's head but Seehaubitze avoids it well.
