PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dana Slaptastic (ranked 4303 p4p, 4349 weight class) and Fui Naufahu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slaptastic misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Naufahu.
Naufahu doesn't manage to clinch there - Slaptastic circles away.
Naufahu stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Slaptastic.

Slaptastic tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Naufahu's elbow.

Naufahu is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Slaptastic gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Naufahu has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Slaptastic uses from the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Slaptastic tries to hold on but Naufahu postures up.
Slaptastic is wriggling around trying to escape.

Naufahu misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Slaptastic is looking to improve his position but Naufahu isn't that keen on the idea.

Naufahu takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Slaptastic wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Naufahu manages to pass to side control.

Naufahu uses his free foot to push down on Slaptastic's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Slaptastic.
