Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Conor OShea (ranked 3771 p4p, 22710 weight class) and Yoji Anjo Anjo (ranked 458 p4p, 613 weight class). Conor OShea has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 34 - 1, fighting out of London, Conor OShea!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yoji Anjo Anjo!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Daniel Blasius and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Anjo scores with a takedown into OShea's guard.
OShea is wriggling around but Anjo manages to pass to half guard.

OShea's coaches at have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Anjo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so OShea is just riding it out for now. Anjo eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

OShea keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Anjo takes a body punch but keeps moving.

and Anjo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Anjo has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Anjo there as he acknowledges the shot.
No joy there for OShea, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
OShea sets himself, and Anjo steps forward looking for the clinch! OShea avoids it this time.

Anjo is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables OShea to keep the fight standing.

OShea manages to break the clinch.
OShea misses with a two punch combination.
OShea lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Anjo circles away quickly and effectively.

Anjo manages to get an easy takedown there - catching OShea on his heels. He'll look to pass OShea's guard now, I'm sure.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Anjo stands and throws OShea's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Anjo looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Anjo is looking to take a break and control but OShea is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
A lull in the action here.

That was a close round but I would say that Conor OShea will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

OShea tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Anjo was well out of range. Poor timing from OShea.
Anjo with the counter takedown but OShea avoids it easily.

Anjo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. OShea was covering up waiting for the punch and Anjo finishes the takedown easily into guard.

and Anjo counters with a shoot takedown. OShea fights it but they end up in guard.

OShea has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Anjo has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

OShea manages to break the clinch.
OShea looks to score with a jab to the body but Anjo is just out of range.
Anjo shoots for a takedown but OShea saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Sloppy strikes from OShea. Those never looked like landing.

OShea closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

OShea misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Conor OShea seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

OShea throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Anjo steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from OShea.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

OShea stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Anjo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Anjo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Anjo takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Anjo postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for OShea to stand up.

OShea tries a head kick but it misses.

OShea bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Anjo sneaks back into half guard.

OShea is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Anjo is doing well to control the position and prevent OShea from advancing to side control.
Anjo wants to control but OShea is keeping busy and won't allow it.
OShea will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

OShea wants to advance to full mount but Anjo doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

That was a close second round but I would say that Conor OShea will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

OShea really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

OShea is fighting to break Anjo's control of his arms but Anjo is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Anjo has his foot on OShea's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. OShea works his way back into a safe position though.

Anjo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in OShea's guard.

Anjo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Let's hope that Anjo has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Anjo tries to score a power double leg takedown but OShea sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Anjo somewhat.
Anjo just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromOShea.
OShea misses with a hook. Anjo ducked under it nicely.
Anjo unleashes a big counter combination but OShea bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Nice takedown defense from OShea. No joy for Anjo on that attempt.
Conor OShea has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yoji Anjo Anjo.

OShea gets caught flat footed, as Anjo shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Anjo is standing up over OShea. OShea looks to escape but Anjo dives into side control.

Anjo tries to move to mount but OShea blocks the move with his legs.
Anjo is staying tight to OShea's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
OShea wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Yoji Anjo Anjo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Anjo goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, OShea rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Anjo's guard! Nice work there by OShea!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Conor OShea.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for OShea, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
