Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 1, fighting out of New York, Gus McCrae!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jean Cristopher La Vellei!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCrae pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
La Vellei walks into a jab.
McCrae takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
A head kick misses from La Vellei.
A jab from McCrae finds it's way through La Vellei's defenses.
McCrae misses with an uppercut.
McCrae's jab looks to have found its range, popping La Vellei under the eye.
McCrae missing with a left hand there. La Vellei was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
McCrae throws a body shot but no joy.
La Vellei avoids the body shot from McCrae.
McCrae misses with a body shot.
McCrae throws a looping overhand right but La Vellei ducks down to avoid it.
McCrae looks to throw the jab but La Vellei is out of range.
La Vellei throws a sloppy head kick and McCrae moves out of range easily.
La Vellei moves out of range of the strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

La Vellei closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into McCrae's guard.
La Vellei must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
La Vellei stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McCrae swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
La Vellei is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
La Vellei is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
La Vellei postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
McCrae preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

La Vellei drops back, looking for a kneebar! McCrae looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. McCrae looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from McCrae!

La Vellei is looking for a sweep.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

McCrae stands up.
McCrae swings and misses with a hook to the body.
La Vellei moves away from the strike by McCrae.
McCrae misses with an uppercut. La Vellei saw that one coming.
McCrae loads up on a big right hand but La Vellei slips the punch.
La Vellei dives in and grabs McCrae's left leg, looking for a takedown. McCrae pushes down on La Vellei's head and hops out.
La Vellei throws a right and a left that McCrae avoids nicely.
McCrae walks into a left hand.
La Vellei slips a jab from McCrae.
La Vellei closes this distance looking for a takedown but McCrae circles away.
This has been an exciting period of action!
McCrae misses with a hook. La Vellei ducked under it nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McCrae jabs at La Vellei's body.
McCrae scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
La Vellei misses with a looping right.
La Vellei throws a half hearted mid kick.

McCrae lands a left and a right that send La Vellei crashing to the mat, dazed. McCrae thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Jean Cristopher La Vellei has been cut.
La Vellei on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

La Vellei is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
McCrae walks forward and throws a big overhand right! La Vellei drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! McCrae swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from La Vellei's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gus McCrae!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Gus McCrae waved his t-shirt featuring Brooklyn Threads's logo in front of the cameras.
