The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ben Salah Jr misses with a body kick.
Thornton wants to counter with a clinch but Ben Salah Jr pushes him away.

Thornton lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Thornton looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Thornton misses with a hook to the ribs.
Thornton lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Ben Salah Jr.

Thornton lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Ben Salah Jr backwards.
Thornton lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Thornton gets through Ben Salah Jr's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Thornton digs a right hand underneath Ben Salah Jr's ribcage. Ben Salah Jr let out a lung full of air as it connected.

A nice right hand lands inside from Thornton.
Thornton throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Ben Salah Jrs head.

Thornton manages to break the clinch.
Ben Salah Jr drops his hands momentarily. Thornton doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Ben Salah Jr staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Ben Salah Jr doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
