Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Hampton!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, David Schapiro and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hampton is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Hampton shoots for a takedown but Johnson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Sloppy strikes from Hampton. Those never looked like landing.
Johnson attempts a counter takedown but Hampton avoids it well and moves away.

Johnson clinches up with Hampton and pushes him back against the cage.

Johnson gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Hampton is trying to maintain the position but Johnson is very close to passing his half guard.
Johnson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Hampton is desperately trying to improve his position but Johnson has a good base and remains in mount.
Hampton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Johnson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Johnson is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Hampton is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Hampton flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Johnson anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Hampton and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Johnson slips an arm under Hampton chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Johnson has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Johnson is squeezing on Hampton like an anaconda would it's prey. Hampton fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jack Johnson!
