PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Dickson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bolodenka Kharitonov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dickson comes to the cage accompanied by Till I Collapse. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kharitonov throws an overhand right that lands on Dickson's shoulder, as Dickson tries to avoid the shot.
Dickson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dickson staying out of range there.
Dickson jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Dickson tries to bum rush Kharitonov with a series of wild strikes but Kharitonov uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Dickson lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Dickson.
Dickson looks to land a combination but Kharitonov avoids it well.
Kharitonov tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dickson was well out of range. Poor timing from Kharitonov.
Kharitonov fails in his attempt to clinch.
Dickson throws a series of punches but Kharitonov avoids them all with ease.

Kharitonov closes the distance and pushes Dickson back into the cage.

Kharitonov breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dickson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Kharitonov moves into the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Dickson fails to land.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Kharitonov.
Kharitonov tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Kharitonov pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Kharitonov throws a hook but Dickson blocks it.
Kharitonov lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Dickson sprawling to the canvas. Kharitonov follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Dickson hang on?

Dickson is rocked!
Kharitonov is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Oh Dickson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Kharitonov decides to stand up.
Dickson seems to have got his legs back now.
Kharitonov uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dickson.
Dickson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Dickson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kharitonov throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Dickson counters with a three punch combo that has Kharitonov backing up. Kharitonov nods at Dickson to acknowledge the strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kharitonov takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Kharitonov moves into the clinch.
Dickson wants to break free but Kharitonov has control.
Kharitonov misses with a punch on the inside.

Kharitonov manages to break the clinch.
Kharitonov is looking to clinch but Dickson is avoiding it.
Dickson cracks Kharitonov with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Dickson throws a chopping leg kick but Kharitonov manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

and Kharitonov counters by moving into the clinch.

Dickson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

A left and a right from Dickson both land. Nice combination.

and Dickson counters with a series of strikes that sends Kharitonov to the canvas! Dickson follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!

Kharitonov manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Dickson wants to hold on but Kharitonov pushes him away.

Dickson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Kharitonov tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Dickson is trying to escape the mount.
Kharitonov trying to control but Dickson is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dickson manages to regain half guard. Good work.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dickson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kharitonov's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kharitonov's back!
Kharitonov is keeping busy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
