Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lou Gotch (ranked 2645 p4p, 3371 weight class) and Henny Bottles (ranked 158 p4p, 195 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 1, fighting out of New York, Lou Gotch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Henny Bottles!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gotch tries to clinch up.
Bottles lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Nice straight punches there by Bottles. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Bottles.
Bottles misses with a looping right.
Gotch keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Gotch feinted with a counter takedown.
Bottles misses with a series of wild punches.
Bottles throws a hook to the side of Gotch's head but Gotch sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Gotch appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Bottles is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gotch blocks a jab.
Bottles connects with a crisp jab.
Bottles throws a jab when Gotch was well out of range.
Bottles loads up on a big right hand but Gotch slips the punch.

Bottles fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gotch manages to avoid it.

Bottles rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Gotch counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Bottles!
Bottles pushes Gotch away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Gotch gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Gotch is trying to get an arm triangle but Bottles is defending well.
Bottles is trying to control Gotch's posture but Gotch avoids it.

Bottles is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gotch is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
We've been hearing good reports from Gotch's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Well, if Gotch is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Gotch is looking for a kimura but Bottles is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gotch to get the leverage.
Bottles is concentrating on defense, preventing Gotch from advancing position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Bottles fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gotch manages to avoid it.
Bottles takes a swing at Gotch's ribcage but misses.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bottles looks to score with a jab to the body but Gotch is just out of range.
Henny Bottles is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gotch avoids the body shot from Bottles.
Gotch feinted with a counter takedown.
Bottles throws out a loose jab but Gotch uses good head movement to avoid it.
Gotch attempts a counter takedown but Bottles avoids it well and moves away.
Bottles lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Gotch at a distance.
Gotch takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Gotch gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Bottles cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Bottles is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Bottles throws a looping overhand right but Gotch ducks down to avoid it.

Gotch closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bottles to the mat! Bottles manages to get full guard.

Bottles will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Henny Bottles dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Bottles with a hook.
Gotch on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Bottles fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Bottles ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gotch moves away.
Bottles lunges at Gotch with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Gotch's hand.
Gotch takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Henny Bottles seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Gotch shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bottles pinned against the cage. Bottles gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bottles misses with an uppercut.
Gotch feinted with a counter takedown.

Bottles waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Gotch.

Henny Bottles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gotch drops an elbow to the side of Bottles's head.
Bottles tries to roll over but Gotch keeps him under control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gotch is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Lou Gotch overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bottles really wants to buck Gotch off and get back to his feet.
Bottles flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Gotch avoids the attempt from Bottles to control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gotch wants to control the pace but Bottles is squirming around nicely.

You get the feeling that Bottles really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Bottles is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Gotch.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Gotch wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bottles, who protects the arm well.
Bottles wants to get back to his feet but Gotch drags him back down.

Bottles is not content to let Gotch control the position.
Bottles wants to control but Gotch postures up.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Gotch is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bottles knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Bottles pushes Gotch away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Gotch gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Gotch tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Gotch trying to control the position but Bottles is working away.

Gotch is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bottles is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Bottles wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Bottles manages to work his way to half guard, despite Gotch's best efforts.
Bottles wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gotch trying to control the action but Bottles is working from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Bottles throws a jab but it's blocked by Gotch.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bottles works over Gotch's head and body with a nice combination.
Bottles misses the shot to the body.
Gotch tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bottles sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gotch somewhat.
Lou Gotch is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bottles throws a left and a right that both miss

and Gotch counters with a single leg into guard. Bottles didn't expect that.

Bottles is striking from the bottom but Gotch uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lou Gotch.
I think Gotch has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
