Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bong Ji Woo (ranked 62 p4p, 105 weight class) and Zee Land (ranked 12 p4p, 21 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Land's choice of entrance music: For Heavy Metal we will die!. On his way into the cage it seems that Bong Ji Woo has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Bong Ji Woo seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Zee Land!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Percy O'Donnell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ji Woo checks a leg kick.
Land keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ji Woo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Land bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ji Woo's head backwards.
Land misses with a takedown attempt - Ji Woo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Land missing with a left hand there. Ji Woo was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Land is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Ji Woo throws an overhand right that lands on Land's shoulder, as Land tries to avoid the shot.
Land is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ji Woo.

Land has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ji Woo is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Land has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Ji Woo tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Land's elbow.

I was talking to Ji Woo's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Land has clasped his hands together around Ji Woo's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Land postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Ji Woo tries to buck Land off but Land is having none of it.

Land is looking to take a break and control but Ji Woo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Ji Woo is doing well to control the position and prevent Land from advancing to side control.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ji Woo is looking to sweep but instead, Land has passed into half guard.
Land is thwarting Ji Woo's attempts to control the position.

Land chips away with some ground and pound.

Land let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Land takes a swing at Ji Woo's ribcage but misses.

and Ji Woo counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Land has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Land manages to get his head free but now Ji Woo has transitioned to an armbar! Land grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Ji Woo! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
