PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roy Hinkle (ranked 2014 p4p, 2510 weight class) and Tom DeBlass (ranked 298 p4p, 361 weight class). Hinkle comes into the arena with 3 Hour Tour blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hinkle closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hinkle lands in his opponent's guard.
DeBlass looking for a sweep. Not yet DeBlass, not yet.

DeBlass working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hinkle doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hinkle manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hinkle is stalling in the full guard.
DeBlass wants to sweep here but Hinkle controlling him for the moment.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hinkle won't allow DeBlass to sweep him here.

DeBlass looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

DeBlass tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Hinkle content to stall in guard here.
Hinkle definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Hinkle stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. DeBlass swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hinkle is fighting to break DeBlass's control of his arms but DeBlass is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Hinkle slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

DeBlass working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hinkle.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
DeBlass is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Hinkle trying to control but DeBlass is working from the bottom.
Hinkle slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
DeBlass manages to get back to half guard.
DeBlass tries to roll over but Hinkle keeps him under control.
Hinkle passes the guard and advances to mount!

DeBlass tries to reverse the position but Hinkle maintains control.
Hinkle lands a nice shot to the head.

A big strike lands for Hinkle! That's really hurt DeBlass and he's turned his back - Hinkle keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Hinkle jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
