PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Javier Arroyo (ranked 1264 p4p, 1872 weight class) and Conor Larkin (ranked 184 p4p, 246 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arroyo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Larkin takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Arroyo tests Larkin's chin there with a solid looking shot.
A slow jab from Arroyo misses its intended target.
Larkin avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Larkin let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Arroyo lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Larkin forces Arroyo back against the cage and clinches.
Arroyo tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Larkin is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Arroyo is keeping busy.
Arroyo throws a head punch that misses.
Larkin is working Arroyo over against the cage.
Arroyo swings wildly with an uppercut but Larkin uses good head movement to avoid it.
Larkin's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Larkin digs a right hand into Arroyo's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Arroyo's gas tank.

That was a close round but I would say that Javier Arroyo will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Arroyo cracks Larkin with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Arroyo has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Larkin to stand back up!

Arroyo is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Larkin has latched onto it... Big trouble! Larkin pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Arroyo is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Larkin!
