Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chris Bibi (ranked 2228 p4p, 1757 weight class) and Sugawara Ichirou (ranked 283 p4p, 232 weight class). Ichirou is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Milky Way. Sugawara Ichirou told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ichirou moves into the clinch.
Ichirou swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Bibi doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Bibi throws a punch but it's blocked by Ichirou.
Ichirou gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Bibi.
Ichirou gets through Bibi's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Ichirou lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Ichirou pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Bibi closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bibi lands in his opponent's guard.

Bibi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
