Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jesus Sanchez (ranked 1144 p4p, 3358 weight class) and Stu Redman (ranked 174 p4p, 477 weight class). Sanchez's entrance music is Duele El Carazon. A fine choice. Redman has chosen Smke a Little Smoke - Eric Church as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stu Redman!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shigeki Sano and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez shoots in but no luck this time.
Redman swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Sanchez gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Redman lands the left hand.

Sanchez gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Sanchez controls Redman momentarily but Redman frees himself.
Sanchez looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Redman is fighting to break Sanchez's control of his arms but Sanchez is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Sanchez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Redman manages to get himself to full guard.

Sanchez is pushing down on Redman's leg trying to pass to half guard. Redman is fighting to maintain full guard but Sanchez has managed to sneak the leg through.
Redman is staying active underneath Sanchez, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sanchez is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Redman reverses the position - he's now on top in Sanchez's guard.

Redman keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Sanchez's head.
Sanchez wants to sweep here but Redman controlling him for the moment.

Sanchez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Sanchez can't control as he wanted to and Redman manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

Sanchez is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Redman defends it well.
Sanchez is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Redman!
We've been hearing good reports from Sanchez's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Redman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Redman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sanchez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Redman stands up over Sanchez, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Redman cracks Sanchez with a solid left hand.
Sanchez lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Sanchez advances position into side control!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sanchez remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Stu Redman dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Sanchez shoots in looking for a takedown but Redman manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sanchez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Redman tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Sanchez tries to get the hooks in deep but Redman pushed the leg off.

Sanchez has got one arm under Redman's chin. This could be trouble... Redman trying to control the other hand but Sanchez gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Redman has tapped out! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jesus Sanchez!
A less than humble Jesus Sanchez misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
