Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ernesto Mathieu (ranked 238 p4p, 281 weight class) and Kwame Nti (ranked 19 p4p, 20 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Ernesto Mathieu has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Ernesto Mathieu seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ernesto Mathieu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kwame Nti!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shirou Masuda and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mathieu throws a leg kick that is checked
and Nti counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Mathieu is trying to stand.
Mathieu knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nti on the ground.
Nti takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mathieu looks like he's trying to stand up.
Nti is taking a breather. Mathieu says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Let's hope that Nti has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Nti changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Mathieu seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Mathieu fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

That's time! Mathieu's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Nti bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Mathieu tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Nti is able to avoid easily.
