Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Archer (ranked 2460 p4p, 2217 weight class) and Vito Scaletta (ranked 362 p4p, 333 weight class). Jonathan Archer had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonathan Archer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 22 - 1, fighting out of New York, Vito Scaletta!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scaletta throws a front kick aimed at Archer's knee but Archer avoids it well.
Scaletta throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Scaletta fails with the takedown
and Archer cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Archer connects with a good right hand that stumbles Scaletta. Scaletta circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Archer swings for the body but Scaletta moves out of range.
Scaletta displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Archer throws out the jab.

Scaletta goes for a double leg but Archer avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Archer continues to drive forward.

Archer lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Archer enables Scaletta to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Archer manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
