PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Murfum Orcarm (ranked 3298 p4p, 5344 weight class) and Booger Magee (ranked 156 p4p, 157 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magee cracks Orcarm with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

It looks like Murfum Orcarm has been cut.
Magee thows a leg kick but Orcarm checks it

and Orcarm counters with a single leg into guard. Magee didn't expect that.

Magee had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Orcarm defends it easily.
Orcarm throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Magee works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Magee wants to stand up but Orcarm is controlling him.

Magee looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Orcarm has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Magee is on top in guard.

Orcarm is looking to sweep but instead, Magee has passed into half guard.
Orcarm is looking for a sweep. Magee is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Orcarm wants to control but Magee is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Orcarm moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Magee misses with an attempted mid kick.
Magee connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Orcarm gets the takedown into side control.
Magee manages to get back to half guard.

Orcarm is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Magee has managed to free his arm - good work.
Orcarm scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Orcarm takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Orcarm is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Magee sees it coming and defends easily.

Orcarm throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

The fighters are battling for position here. Magee manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Orcarm drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Orcarm jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Magee is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Magee tries to stand but can't do so whilst Orcarm controls his leg.
Magee wants to pass to mount but Orcarm is defending the position.

Orcarm is refusing to be controlled, as Magee sits in half guard.
Magee wants to stand up but Orcarm has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Magee is looking to stall here but Orcarm recovers full guard.

Orcarm is looking for a triangle but Magee pushes his legs off easily.
Magee stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Orcarm swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Booger Magee will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Magee scores with a nice head shot.
Magee looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Orcarm attempts a counter takedown but Magee avoids it well and moves away.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Orcarm is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Magee knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Magee for a finish.
